Reflections WUDDUP

Today, I spoke to a complete cow for business purposes.  This, in addition to some wine, led me to the following reflections.

I've been home for just slightly over a year now (the longest I've stayed in place since 2011).  I did decide to get myself out of hotels, after years of hardships, wrinkly frowns, and personal miseries (clearly reflected in my previous few posts).

It didn't kill me and definitely made me stronger.

I've developed a DON'T MESS backbone that used to be so limp and invited people to stomp over.  My ridiculously lazy work ethics prior to my move to hotels has turned into a demanding and incredibly efficient attitude.  This is reinforced by a great team who advises me on a weekly basis how valuable and passionate I am at work.

As for my personal miseries, I finally allowed myself to feel miseries and go through a healthy healing motion, breaking out of my denial habits.

I realized what I'm worth and what I deserve, and I damned well obtain those elements.  I'm now surrounded by the most bomb and appreciative true-friends, bosses, coworkers, and Puppy.

After a lot of hurt feelings and financial debts that accompanied my career in hotels and moves to the Rockies, I conclude it was worth it.

That is all.  I need a nap.  For some reason, it's always blaringly bright out when we have Wine n Cheese events at work.

Home for the Holidays!!

I typically like to sit in front of classrooms, meetings and church services to minimize distractions.  This is what I did the first day of Biology 11.  I chose to sit in the second row, next to my wonderful Abbs M, who'd been on the Principal's List the last couple years in highschool.  That would've been great influence, plus I love this girl.

But then our teacher fatefully seated us alphabetically, so I ended up in the last row next to Carny W.  Here, we bonded over our teenage dramas, he manned up to accommodate my preference not to dissect anything, and we launched a friendship that continued for more than a decade.

And so I was able to go home for the holidays :) :)  Thanks to his endless efforts in our friendship, I officially have not missed any parties of DOOMs.

Jammin.

With Carn and the Birthday boys.
Finally, I wasn't alone with the West Coast.  There'snoplacelikehome.

Super Dungeon Explore and smoked salmon at 5 in the morning.
Winn!!  You lose Redman!!
Early workers crashed on the couches in the back.

The aftermath at ihop, as per tradition.

The mild hangovers on our side of the table.

The epic team that made my trip happen.

I may not have aced Biology 11 as I had foolishly sought, but I was connected to this group of the most outrageous, dorky, clever, accepting and generous friends.

I am sooo so grateful and love you guys to widdle subatomic pieces!!

Home for the Holidays?

Oh, my boys (and Yan), you made my heart flutter.

Once upon a time, my very snazzy buddy Carny threw a PARTY OF DOOOOOM!!

Bumble bee tuna.

And then another (DOOM II - 2007).

Tzane: "I'm NOT part black, my hair does NOT grow into an afro."
Me: "Ummmm I have a picture of you when you were like 14 that indicates otherwise."
Tzane: "You do not."
Me: "I do too-ooooooo."

This is what I do at DOOM Parties.

And then another (DOOM III - 2008).

Cool huh?

And then another (DOOM IV - 2009).

Having arrived late and departed early, I only managed to take 1 photo for this one.

And then he got married (like a DOOM Party but we sure wouldn't name their classy wedding reception a party of DOOM - 2012).

All grown up.

AND THEN THEY DECIDED TO HAVE A PARTY OF DOOM LITE!!  -on New Year's eve 2012 (if, y'kno, we survive the 21st of course).

I thought this was pretty funny.  Source unknown.

I sadly stated on the FB event wall: "For real?! I'm going to miss a Party of Doom for the first time?! :( :(
How am I going to take embarrassing pictures from all the way over here...."

To which Carns' lovely wife Yan replied, "Boooooo! Maybe you should come back... Lol"

AND THEN!!  And then I receive a phone call today from Carns indicating that if I could get the time off, a few of them has agreed to contribute to the cost of flying me home and back.  ENTER HEART FLUTTERING HERE.

I'm tentatively scheduled to work so far, but I'll see what changes I can manage.  If I can't get NYE off, I'll come visit some time in January.  Nonetheless, I just wanted to TYPE IN CAPITAL LETTERS HOW AMAZING YOU GUYS ARE AND WHAT SMILES YOU PUT ON MY FACE!!
